July in our olive grove in Monsano: the olives are taking shape

July marks an important stage in our family olive grove in Monsano, in the heart of the Marche region of Italy. After the work carried out during spring, the olives are now beginning to grow and develop on the branches of our century-old trees.

At this time of year, most of the agricultural work is already behind us. We carefully monitor the condition of the olive trees and the development of the fruit, while remaining vigilant against potential pests, especially the olive fruit fly. To naturally protect the future quality of our extra virgin olive oil, we use biological traps that help control its presence without resorting to aggressive treatments.

July is also a special time for our family. As every year, we gather in Monsano to enjoy time together in the olive grove. Over the generations, our olive trees have witnessed countless birthdays, family celebrations, and even a wedding. They have been an integral part of the Marsili family's history for more than a century.

Throughout the summer, nature continues its work. The olives slowly ripen under the Italian sun, gradually developing the aromas that will give our olive oil its unique character.

The most anticipated moment, however, is still to come in autumn. This is when the olive harvest begins, carried out with great care to preserve the quality of the fruit and produce an authentic extra virgin olive oil that truly reflects the terroir of Monsano.
